"We continue exploring the historic "Syakaro Historic Trail". This trail, during the Japanese colonial period, established around 14 outposts mainly used to manage the daily lives of indigenous people. The Atayal people, skilled in using alnus bamboo to make various household items and buildings, proudly call themselves the "Bamboo Family." In this episode, the station manager will personally demonstrate the traditional, environmentally friendly trap-setting techniques and answer hikers' questions about the mountains and indigenous culture, sharing important safety tips for the forest. Finally, we will visit the most popular maple-viewing spot along the trail—"Ma'an Outpost." The maple trees here were once an important economic resource for the indigenous people.
